Beg & Plead 03:46
No matter how hard you beg and you crawl yo know I'm gonna keep walking tall. Verse 1 I just heard the times are a changin'. They're changing fast. Rob and Davey sitting at the quarry smokin' through their stories. I was told to move the stone. If the girls had known they would've stayed homes. Cause I won't try. Chorus No matter how hard you beg and you crawl you know I'm gonna keep walking tall. Try to mess with my head and I know you're going to meet regrets instead. At least that's what I've been fed. Verse 2 I dig to my roots, I skim a couple books. You won't believe what my mom told me. So I stood my ground like I own this town. Buddy drop the blindfold slowly. I was told to steal the moon but the sun and stars fell too soon. Cause I won't try. Bridge Trains stop rolling by while we scratch our heads and try to rewind time. My knuckles break and burn while I cling to the days that won't return. Verse 2 I gazed at my grandfather clock. He looks so blue. So I grabbed the box filled with stuff that's out of stock. I make my own truth. I finally saw my bird fly away. She sang a song but I forgot it right away. Cause I... Cause I... Cause I won't try.

Verse 1 I've been afraid that I'll stay the same. That I'll never change. I'll just waste time. I've seen the fate of trees that never grow, of flowers in the snow, and sinking stones. Chorus Don't let your dream die quickly. You're too young for that. It's an old timeless melody but you can bring it back. It's your only part left of me. And it's the only part that you have. Verse 2 Take my hand, and lead me again. Please be the only friend who won't let go. Talk to me about things I've never seen, about songs you used to sing before the rain. Bridge You can stay with me. I promise I will never leave.

Crying Eyes 03:06
Verse 1 Swollen eyes from pictures of Life. Your memory's tired. Just picture life with her the first time. The first time she made you smile. Chorus You mean the world to me. I'm standing here for you to hold. Your crying eyes are shut and mine won't seem to close. What's hurting me won't let me find my role. I'll be your rock and make you feel like you are home. Verse 2 Hand with rings. That organ sings. The choir cries. Leading songs with them the first time. The first time they saw god's eyes. Bridge Can't stand to sit and watch your face lose control. I hope this pace of constant brokenness will fade and point you home. Verse 3 Joyous times. Infections smile. Please freeze time. Can't say goodbye to her this last time. Won't say goodbye to her this last time. Goodbye loved one this last time. This last time we saw you smile.

Verse 1 Don't come walking through that door cause love ain't waiting for you anymore. I said love ain't waiting for you anymore since you gave your love to another girl. Verse 2 I've been trying to be patient, but now my anger is a blazing. Pack your things cause you ain't staying. You went one girl over your limit. Chorus I'm sick of towing the wire. I'm pulling my hands from the fire. I'm finally rolling the tires. Cause you'll always, You'll always be a liar. Verse 3 You dress real nice and you quit your drinking, but I knew you were misbehaving. You can't fool me you're no different. You just can't resist a girl's attention. Verse 4 Well I'm not surprised and I'm not sad. No need to mourn a love that we never had. No need to mourn a love that we never had. Next time I'll do better picking.

Scars 03:33
Verse 1 Open the door. Please let me in. You don't have to be afraid. You don't have to hide your face. I'm not leaving. I'm coming home. I want to take those scars that mar your heart and let them go. Chorus But you say you're happy and satisfied. That you don't need me to crawl inside. Verse 2 Remember when we first met? We talked the stars out of the night. Watched the sun reclaim its sky. Shared our secrets like Christmas time. We didn't stop to care of silent tears and warning signs. Bridge I never knew why you said goodbye. I gave you my world and gave you my life. You stopped turning to me with the reasons you cry. But here I stand willing to try.

Sideshow 03:30
Verse 1 Treasured stories please don't bore me. These days it's so easy to make that girl cry. She's barely in touch with her feelings inside. I'm dancing on my own. If I trip or take a dive God only knows why. Chorus We try so hard to feel alive. We poke and prod till we bleed through our eyes. If you can see how it's supposed to be would you tell me? Or is staring back at me? Verse 2 Click, share your bright side. Don't admit you're in a bind. These days it's so easy to be unkind. It's far more pleasing to stage your life. I'm dancing on my own. If I trip or take a dive God only knows why. Verse 3 Johnny's walking. What a triumph. Since when do I care what you're sipping or eating. It's not like you discovered the secret to breathing. I'm dancing on my own. If I trip or take a dive God only knows why. Verse 4 It's a freak show. We won't go. Too expensive. We'll just download. Or maybe I'll headline my very own show. I see it's already sold out.

Verse1 In my basement apartment on a sunny day playing partly cloudy music in a partly cloudy way. My mind's a blank as far as music goes so I'll go down for a beer at a bar called Joe's. Chorus Ah, honey don't you be too rough on me. I've got scratched up hands and scabs on my knees. You know in terms of crawlin' it's a long way home. so show me a little mercy and leave me alone. Verse 2 Hey bartender won't you lend me a dime. I spent all my money here it didn't take much time. Call my wife for me will you, tell her I'm coming home. Don't you tell her I was crawlin' she already knows. Verse 3 As I crawled in the door there stood my wife. She wore the meanest face I'd ever seen in my life She broke my guitar in two, kicked me in the head. Now I'm in the doghouse and she's got the bed.

Verse 1 The trees with all their scabby knees were dancing long ago. Rooted in the hillside and waltzing to and fro. There wasn't much to cry about they sat through rain and snow. And the world turned on and on again. Verse 2 Have you ever sat and waited for strawberries to grow? And listened to the stretching of their feet far down below? Make sure you don't grow too fast or birds will let you know that the world turns on and on again. Chorus We don't cry we don't crow. You see but you don't listen to the things you ought to know. We've got sky to which we grow. What will you say when you're all alone. Verse 3 Written in the rolling hills where everything is green. Wrapped in roots, forget-me-knots waiting to be seen. You'll have to turn your ear and hear the words that they will say. That the world turns on and on again. Verse 4 There comes a time when everyone forgets the dancing trees. The rolling hills, and stretching feet and old and scabby knees. When you are old with crooked legs gone is what we'll be. Cause the world turns on and on again.

Motions 04:09
Verse 1 His motions have changed when I look on back. He laid down his heart for the worst. Cause all that remains is strange out of place. Chorus But I won't find a way find someone who will help with his pain. It's a curse to watch and debate all the right things to say when witnessing hurt. Verse 2 Should my motions change to counter his act of victimless rage to the end. Cause souls won't be saved if I still pretend. Bridge Give me the rest to accuse. I'll lengthen the test of my strength of my heart. And I know what it takes to refuse everybody and the toll of the weight on my heart beat for you. All for you

This Tree 03:13
Verse 1 Playing in the sand and building castles to the sky no one told us why we ought to try. The images just danced across our minds. No thought was ever given to the tide. Chorus Ooh, oh, oh, it's still you and me. Wild, young, and free. Ooh, oh ,oh, we're bound to this tree. Forever we will be. Verse 2 I'm firmly planted miles from your door. Your lights flickered on, but I wasn't sure. I took a breath but still was insecure. My weaker side pulled me from the floor. Verse 3 Take me out to the sea. The waves don't care what we choose to see. The island is so far our of reach. Our echoes keep marching through the breeze.
